As the guys out there where the rubber hits the road we have noticed a spike in team board classroom installations as their effectiveness in the classroom has been welcomed and accepted positively as teachers begin truly using them as an interactive device to increase communication with their students.
A team board, or as sometimes referred to as a classroom smart board, consists of 4 major components:
- An actual white board similar to a chalk board, but a white board, onto which an image of the computer screen is projected. The white board may be written on as well as be used as a screen for a projector. The projector is mounted (hung) in a central part of the classroom where the teacher normally teaches from.
- A projector that may be either mounted to the ceiling or on the wall just above the white board.
- A podium behind which the teacher instructs the students which faces them.
- A computer (tower, keyboard and mouse) which is mounted within the podium and connected to their local network (LAN).
