What does the Recycle Bin do? The Recycle Bin is the place from where you can restore any deleted file, hence the name ‘recycle bin’. The name of this Windows utility has been at the receiving end of many a joke. Apparently, a not-so-computer-savvy secretary kept moving her files to the Recycle Bin thinking they were being recycled. We don’t know the extent of the truth behind this story, but we know that people across the world wonder if the name can be changed to a more suitable one, like ‘restore bin’ or ‘trash’.
So, what does the Recycle Bin do? It is a store for all the files that you choose to delete. However, it gives you a flexibility of recovering a file you accidentally deleted. The Recycle Bin stores the ‘deleted’ files for a long time. You may choose to empty the Recycle Bin at any instant.
How to restore a file from the Recycle Bin
1. Double-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop.
2. Locate the file you want to restore.
3. Select the desired file.
4. Right-click on the selected file.
5. Click the Restore option.
The file will come back to its original location.
Most of the time, computer repair is not as simple as restoring a file. For bigger problems, call the experts home.
